The main technological objective of this research project is based on the development of a virtual prototyping tool to support rapid decision making during the hot sheet metal stamping process, suitable for use in the fine-tuning phase, but especially focused on production, where decision making requires immediacy.
The development of the tool is intended to:
– Optimize the complete hot stamping line looking for a nominal optimum of the line for standard material conditions, varying furnace parameters, transfer time to die, stamping speed, compression/cooling time, water temperature and flow, press and press cushion parameters, among others).
– Make quick decisions when modifying process parameters to compensate for sources of variability intrinsic to the material and the process itself.
– Anticipate the solution of a problem before it appears, if upstream control measures indicate changes, e.g. in the deformability of the sheet, etc…
