01.- NAME OF THE PROJECT

Traceability system for maritime containers based on IoT technology.

02.- SUMMARY

It is proposed to install an electronic on board each container operated by the company JCV INTERCONTAINER in order to obtain the satellite coordinates of the current location of the container and communicate them to the platform of the company, especially in the ground operation of the same. For this purpose, needs to develop electronics that will be equipped with different types of sensors that will activate the tracking system when the container is being loaded/unloaded onto a truck or is being handled by a reach stacker at a port or at a rail loading dock. The project aims to review the existing systems and technologies in the market and to design and develop electronics suitable for the company’s needs .

04.- INFORMATION TECHNICAL INFORMATION ON THE PROJECT AND ITS OBJECTIVES

The R&D&I activities defined in this study fit perfectly within the thematic priority “Intra-company/inter-company management applications” included in Annex VII of the call, being the main digital enablers to address this project the following :

  • Implementation of innovative business solutions using technologies linked to IoT and to data analytics.
  • Implementation of innovative process solutions using technologies such as sensors.
  • Control of processes.
  • Development and implementation of ICT applications in the company’s value chain.

The objective of this project is based on changing the flow of information in the transport of maritime containers as it is known today, by designing and installing an electronic device that will be loaded in each container in order to provide accurate information on the traceability of the container for the proper calculation of the delivery date. The project aims to review the existing systems and technologies in the market and make a design and prototype suitable for the company’s needs.
