Execution date: 01/01/2023-31/12/2025

PRESENTATION AND OBJECTIVES:

The main objective of the IODIDE group’s project is to drive the development of advanced technological solutions through the use of data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and electrification, in order to improve energy efficiency, connectivity and the competitiveness of industrial and scientific systems. Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030), this project seeks to innovate in key sectors such as industry, transportation and science through the creation of efficient electrical systems and AI applications oriented to data processing, to respond to current challenges in sustainability and digital transformation. The IODIDE Group’s research focuses on two main lines:

Advanced and Sustainable Electrical Technologies: This line focuses on the design and development of efficient and low-noise electrical systems, integrating energy storage in complex environments. Its pillars include the development of ultra-compact electrical systems, highly sensitive electronic instrumentation, optimization of consumption in renewable systems through digital twins, and methodologies to control electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) phenomena.
Data Oriented Artificial Intelligence: The second line prioritizes the development of data processing solutions using AI. With a focus on machine learning (ML) and deep learning (DL), the group seeks to generate real-time knowledge to improve energy efficiency and optimize strategic sectors. Application areas range from automated data analysis and prediction to pattern and anomaly detection in complex environments.

The IODIDE group will promote scientific quality through doctoral theses, publications, and competitively funded R&D projects. Additionally, it will promote technology transfer to the industrial sector and research stays in relevant centers, strengthening the sustainability of the group and its impact on the technological development of the community.
