“New end-to-end digital framework for optimized manufacturing and maintenace of next generation aircraft composite structures (GENEX)”
Program: HORIZON EUROPE HORIZON-CL5-2021-D5-01
Reference: 101056822
RESOLUTION Date: 10/05/2022
Execution date: 01/09/2022-28/02/2026
The Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón participates in the European project GENEX, whose objective is to advance in the digitalization of the new generation of aircraft. To this end, we propose the development of a methodology based on enhanced digital twins that bring together interdisciplinary knowledge throughout the life cycle of composite components including manufacturing, operation and repair. GENEX will develop optimized and eco-efficient manufacturing technologies, maximize aircraft availability and service life, and improve the automation and quality of repair processes, ensuring in-flight safety. For all this we will use technologies such as:
-Reprocessable, repairable and recyclable resins.
ATL out-of-autoclave manufacturing processes combined with in-line monitoring techniques to control and optimize component quality.
ML models trained with synthetic data obtained with high-fidelity simulations optimized for HPC.
-Fatigue life prediction models combined with damage detection techniques to predict remaining component life.
-Digital tools to assist, improve and control composite repair processes.
-IIoT platform to ensure interoperability and usability of all data and digital twins developed for the purpose of creating, capturing, sharing and reusing knowledge throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
