AMIGOS (Active Mobility Innovations for Green and safe city sOlutionS)
Program: HORIZONTE EUROPA
Reference: 101104268
Date of RESOLUTION: 03/05/2023
Execution date: 01/06/2023-31/05/2027
Last June, we launched a new European project in Hamburg on mobility innovations to make cities safer and more sustainable.
In this project, co-creation activities and innovative digital tools will be used to identify current and future mobility challenges in 5 cities (Hamburg, Istanbul, Las Rozas, Lappeeranta and Gabrovo) and 10 urban areas (safety improvement areas).
The digital tools to be used include a Mobility Observation Box and an app for collecting new mobility data, which will feed a big data platform for analysis and digital twins to visualize mobility scenarios. They will enable urban stakeholders to identify mobility challenges and will serve as a basis for the co-development of adapted mobility solutions: towards traffic reduction, increased public and active mobility modes, improved safety and cohabitation between different mobilities for the 5 cities, and towards increased safety for the 10 urban areas. Their environmental, safety, economic and social impacts will be evaluated, as well as their medium- and long-term impact and replicability.
AMIGOS is one of the projects that foresees cooperation with the Mission Platform (HORIZON-MISS-2021-CIT-02-03) within the CIVITAS initiative, as well as with the coordination platform SUMP ELTIS and the exchange of good practices and project results with the upcoming European Urban Initiative of the Cohesion Policy, the Urban Agenda for the EU and other relevant smart specialization partnerships (such as the Safe and Sustainable Mobility Partnership, EIT Urban Mobility).
