02.- SUMMARY
E-commerce is growing at an unstoppable pace worldwide. The selection of the right packaging, in addition to the need to ensure the maximum protection of the products marketed through online stores , is a basic element for the success of the business, in addition to the importance it has in preventing breakage and the resulting problems, both economic and image of the company.
Within this framework, the project aims to design new packaging made of 100% recycled corrugated cardboard, adapted to e-commerce and mainly aimed at fragile products, since the main risk of this distribution environment is related to impacts and falls in the automatic, semi-automatic and manual handling of packages.
Likewise, the second objective of the project is to develop a numerical and experimental tool capable of offering end consumers the set of functionalities and characteristics required for each product to be contained, allowing the optimization and customization of the packaging in terms of its protection against impacts.

The project has two distinct objectives:
The design of new packaging designs in corrugated cardboard specially adapted to e-commerce for fragile products, and therefore ensuring adequate protection against impact but ensuring at the same time that adequate designs are achieved to the other requirements that the e-commerce channel imposes on the packaging (in addition to the logical protection of the packaged product):
Corrugated cardboard is a great option for its light weight and recyclability, . Therefore, the project aims at the development of conditioners and final packaging geometries, always in corrugated cardboard, that avoid the use of other conditioning elements that present clear limitations in terms of recyclability.
For this first objective of the project, is working on concrete designs, with the intention that they reach the market and can be presented at specialized packaging fairs. The initial selection of the designs is made on active projects at that moment, and that have as common denominator the e-commerce of bottles.
The second objective of the project is to develop a series of experimental and numerical tools to support the development of corrugated packaging from the point of view of impact protection , so that they can be made available to packaging designers for the generation of new designs.
The designs associated with the first objective constitute the basis for the development and validation of the new design tools, although is intended to be general in nature and easily adaptable to new packaged products and new ideas in the geometric design of the corrugated packaging.
