Date of RESOLUTION: 11/28/2023
Date of execution: May 2023-April 2024

PRESENTATION AND OBJECTIVES:

The intralogistics / warehouse sector is gaining great importance for companies, whatever their size, as logistics is nowadays a competitive weapon for most of them, as well as requiring a demanding adaptation to the new commercial “rules of the game”, very demanding in general, both in BtB channels and in ecommerce.
The main objective of the project is to accelerate the digital transformation and transition
of supply chains through a planned research of new
innovative techniques in the area of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This solution,
which includes AI and ML applied to intralogistics processes, will enable the optimization of supply chain processes with low digitization, increasing the productivity of logistics processes, by eliminating unnecessary processes, automating tasks and implementing advanced technology that is compatible with the sustainability of the company. As a result, a reduction in operating costs must be achieved by optimizing these processes. In addition, we will try to establish and plan the operational conditions required for a company to offer ecommerce services to its partners so that they can send their products from small rural towns to any part of the territory, thus increasing their growth possibilities and reducing the carbon footprint by using less transport.

Thus, the scope of the project focuses in this Phase 2 on the optimization
intralogistics, with very important components of digitization and automation of the
operations. The application of each technology to the development of the
project is detailed below:

  1. AI for Warehouse Slotting (Zoning of materials), will allow to define in a continuous and evolutionary way, the best location for each product among the different zones of the warehouse.
  2. The implementation of AutoID technology, or other more innovative technologies in the field of intralogistics
, will make operations more efficient, improve traceability
of materials in the supply chain, as well as improve the learning curve
of operators to new operations, especially for personnel with some degree of
disability. Some of the technologies to be studied will be:
    a. Bidi
    b. QR
    c. RFID
    d. ESL (Electronic Shelf Label)
    e. Trace Sticker Tag
    f. Trace Coin Tag

The technical objectives of the project are as follows:

  • Objective I: Application of AI in intralogistics movements and in the movement of goods between agents in the supply chain.
  • Objective II: Identification of Auto-ID variables and technologies to ensure traceability and guidance of goods movements both internally and between agents in order to increase productivity and reduce errors.
  • Objective III: Identify the variables and operations to be able to adapt the current
order preparation operation based on a traditional BtB system, adding, to the
operation, a delivery service for the e-commerce sales of the partners, knowing that it is in an atomized sector and with great rural influence.
  • Objective IV: Study of application and break-even point for the automation of
intralogistics movements, using unmanned equipment, comparing it objectively with traditional equipment (forklifts, electric pallet trucks, etc.).
