The European project AIDA-2020 brings together the main European leading research centers in the field of particle physics that together with a remarkable number of institutes, universities and technology centers, intend to realize new technological developments for the future generation of detectors of physics, relying on infrastructures specially prepared to validate these developments.
A total of 56 entities from 19 countries and CERN http://home.web.cern.ch are involved in this coordinated project that includes networking activities, transnational access and joint research activities, all aligned with the European Particle Physics Strategy .
The Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (ITAINNOVA), which leads one of the work packages, is one of the five Spanish centers (IFCA-CSIC http://www.ifca.csic.es/, CNM-CSIC http://www.cnm.csic.es, CIEMAT http://www.ciemat.es, IFAE http://www.ifae.es) participating in the project.
The main objective of ITAINNOVA in AIDA 2020 http://aida2020.web.cern.ch/content/itainnova is to make available to detector designers its knowledge, equipment and unique facilities to perform the electromagnetic characterization of detectors applying techniques of Electromagnetic Compatibility in order to minimize the levels of electromagnetic noise present in these equipments by design.
The AIDA 2020 project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement no. 654168.
