The project

The objective of this study is to conduct an analysis of the feasibility of adoption and deployment of Industry 4.0 technologies related to traceability and indoor localization in the smart room environment, aligned to the real needs of the healthcare facilities and to the residences. This feasibility study will be carried out through a pilot demonstrator (Living Lab) with the support of the Hospital San Juan de Dios de Zaragoza, as well as with Fundación Ardid. more advanced and innovative approach focused on:

  • capture real-time information not only about the patient but also about the personnel, the equipment, mobile and static, and the people who work with them. present in the room.
  • analyze the information and provide decision support systems for decisions made by the to improve the patient’s experience and to improve the quality of care. to provide quality health care services to the largest number of people in the people.
  • to automate processes that will increase the efficiency of personnel and improve resource productivity and unique facilities, while at the same time offering unique services, such as minimizing operating costs. Innovative Business Clusters

Project objectives

Technical information on the project and its objectives:

The The secondary objectives are to identify which technologies are allow to cover with a holistic approach to the concept of habitation before embarking on any development project technological:

  • Operational Vision: to know which are the main needs of the hospitals, bottlenecks, problems and inefficiencies that need to be addressed, and which should be addressed by the technologies and the smart room concept should give response.
  • Legal overview: regulations and industry certifications related to the deployment of technology products
  • Vision Technological: state of the art and maturity of different technologies and that another set of (enabling) technologies are necessary for the deployment of key technologies.
  • Vision Return on Investment (ROI): The returns on deployment will be analyzed. of these technologies in terms of indicators related to the time savings, increased quality of the services provided, and the and/or economic savings.
  • Disseminate the project and the results achieved. The project includes the following five work packages:
    • PT1 – Definition of the baseline needs of hospitals in relation to the smart room.
    • PT2 – Documentation and review of the legal state of the art regarding the information, data and their processing, as well as the implications in product certifications.
    • WP3 – Documentation and status review of selected technologies.
    • PT4 – Living Lab: Demonstration pilot and analysis of the technical and economic feasibility of the deployment.
    • WP5 – Dissemination and project management.

Participating entities:

  • Arahealth (Coordinator)
